Margaret “Peggy” Worf
Margaret “Peggy” Worf, 84 passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Presbyterian Manor of the Plains in Dodge City, Kansas. She was born October 28, 1930 in Tonganoxie, Kansas the daughter of Lawrence and Mary “Bender” Hummelgaard. She was united marriage to Duane Worf on may 11, 1956 in Friend, Kansas.
Peggy was self-employed, cleaning for various businesses and homes. She cleaned for the Dairy Queen for 40 years.
Peggy enjoyed time with her grandchildren as well as her great grandchildren. She was a member of Plymell Union Church and the Great Plains Horticulture Club. She enjoyed going to Concerts in the Park, collecting antiques, and she loved chickens.
Survivors include her husband Duane Worf; four children Karol & husband Neil Graham of Marshfield, Mo., Dennis & wife Pat Worf of Garden City, Ks., Mary Worf of Garden City, Ks., and Jeff & wife Karla Worf of Ashland, Ks.; a sister Shirley & husband john Schuler of Kansas City, Ks.; two brothers Dean & wife Rose Hummelgaard of Tonganoxie, Ks. and Dale & wife Carolyn Hummelgaard of Tonganoxie, Ks.; 8 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; a sister Bonnie Peterson; and two brothers John Hummelgaard and Richard Hummelgaard.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Plymell Union Church in Plymell, Kansas with Rev. Ron Niday officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the VFW in Tonganoxie. Burial will follow at the Hubble Hill Cemetery in Tonganoxie. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday all at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family requests memorials given to Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
