Marc D. Salmans, 61, died September 3, 2013 at the Hodgeman County Health Center, Jetmore.

He was born April 9, 1952 in Jetmore, the son of Junior and Maxine McKibbin Salmans. A lifetime area resident, he was a dirt contractor and custom spray applicator. He was a member of the Hanston United Methodist Church, Hanston school board, Hanston city council and was the mayor of Hanston for many years.

On September 4, 1971, he married Cetra Baker at Ashland.  She survives. Other survivors include: a son, Chanc (Kim) Salmans, Hays; two daughters, Nikkee (Chris) Byard, South Hutchinson, Leasa (Nathan) Huck, Coldwater; Parents, Junior and Maxine Salmans, Jetmore; three brothers, Jay (Jeanie), Montezuma, Terry (Danetta), Hanston, Lane (Lisa), Gruver. TX; a sister, Janet (Jim) Byrum, Dodge City; seven grandsons, Kody, Hunter & Easton Huck, Bryce & Slade Salmans, Jace & Tanner Byard; two granddaughters, Korree & Avery Byard; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank & Elizabeth Salmans and Malcolm & Ida McKibbin.

Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Hanston, with Pastor Dennis Fulton presiding.  Friends may sign the register book from 9a.m. to 8p.m. Thursday and Friday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Cremation has taken place.
