Manuael McCune, 89, died December 14, 2015 at Bethel Home in Montezuma. He was born on August 30, 1926 in Stafford, the son of Earl and Gladys (Johnson) McCune.

Manuael attended grade school in Stafford before moving to Montezuma with his family. He then went to Montezuma High School, graduating in 1945. On December 19, 1952, he married Lila Cover at the Montezuma Methodist Church. She preceded him in death on October 19, 1993. Manuael farmed near Montezuma. He was also an insurance agent for 40 years. Manuael and Lila traveled the world together, enjoying many beautiful sites. He also enjoyed playing golf and visiting with his many friends in the community.

He was a member of the Morningside Church of Montezuma where he served on various committees and helped with the AWANA program for several years.

Manuael is survived by three sons, Michael McCune and wife Ginger of Overland Park; Marcel McCune and wife Genevieve of Minneola; and Marc McCune of Savannah, Georgia; one daughter, Jackie Medlock and husband Dave of Lewiston, Idaho; two sisters, Gloria Sayer of Springfield, Missouri and Margaret Good of Montezuma; one brother, Lloyd McCune of Andover; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife Lila, Manuel is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Matthew McCune; one sister, Ozelle Baker; one grandson, Miles McCune; and one granddaughter, Jannel McCune.

Funeral service will be held at Morningside Church in Montezuma on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 9:30 AM with Pastor Tim Erickson presiding. Burial will follow at Morningside Cemetery, Montezuma. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Montezuma on Friday, December 18, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
