Manhattan holds off Garden City to win J.R. Durhman Invitational Tournament
Norton, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Entering Saturday’s J.R. Durham Invitational, it looked as though it would either be Garden City or Manhattan at the top. Coming in, Manhattan was ranked No. 1 in Class 6A, with Garden City ranked No. 2. Both teams held their rankings, as the Indians held on in the final round to dethrone the Buffaloes from the top. Garden City had won the previous three tournaments. Individually, Garden City had four champions, Scott City had three, and Cimarron and Holcomb had one each.
