Man From California Dies in Accident Near Cimarron
Cimarron, KS (westernkansasnews.com) An accident in icy conditions has claimed the life of a 71 year old man from Santa Barbara, California. State Highway Patrol say the fatality victim was driving on US 50, fifteen miles west of Cimarron shortly after 4 Sunday afternoon when the car crossed the center line and hit a SUV in the opposite direction.
Amedeo Grieco died a couple of hours later at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. His passenger, 64 year old Graziella Grieco was transferred from St. Catherine to another hospital. 47 year old Sallie Olomon of Garden City is resting at St. Catherine in good condition.

Another accident on US 50 around 3:30 Sunday afternoon occurred when a driver of an F-150 tried to pass a car and lost control on icy roads slipping and rolling into a ditch. 38 year old Deborah Schroeder of Hutchinson was the driver and had to be taken to Western Plains Medical Complex.
Five children suffered injuries in the accident, they were all buckled up, but still needed medical attention at the hospital.
