Madison Kaylee Bemis, 22 died Wednesday, July 20, 2016 in Finney County, Kansas. She was born March 7, 1994 in Lakin, Kansas.
Kaylee has lived all of her life in the Lakin area. She attended both Lakin and Deerfield schools and graduated from Deerfield High School in 2012. She has been working as a medical assistant for Dr. Arlo Reimer at the Lakin Family Health Center. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, her family and friends, painting, crafts, fishing, going to the lake, and taking care of people through her work.
Survivors include her daughter Peyton Jayde Gonzalez of Lakin, Ks.; mother Melodee Bemis of Lakin, Ks.; father James Bemis of Lakin, Ks.; 2 brothers Jace Bemis and Tyler Bemis both of Lakin, Ks.; a sister Erica George of Lakin, Ks.; grandparents Joyce & Allan Bemis of Lakin, Ks. and Pam & Randy Hayzlett of Lakin, Ks.; a great grandmother Hazel LaPorte of Plainville, Ks.; and her fiancé Ricardo Cano of Garden City, Ks.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Wesleyan Church in Lakin with Rev. Jeffrey Lee officiating. Burial will follow at the Lakin Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday all at Garnand Funeral Home in Lakin. The family request memorials given to the Peyton Jayde Gonzalez Education Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Lakin.
