Lottie Paralee Ryder, 97 died Friday, November 13, 2015 at her home in Garden City. She was born May 21, 1918 in Sharp County, Arkansas the daughter of Thomas M. & Cora (Ford) Wright.
Lottie grew up in the Sidney, Arkansas area where she attended schools. She moved to Manhattan, Kansas in 1941. While living in Manhattan, Lottie worked as a cook and baker in various places throughout Manhattan and Ft. Riley. She later moved to Bullhead City, Arizona in 1995. Later in 1999 she moved to Garden City where she has lived since. She was a members of Fellowship Baptist Church of Garden City and a life member of the VFW Auxiliary.  
She married Ed Caraway on November 9, 1936 with whom she had two daughters and two sons. Lottie later married John Ryder on May 4, 1965 in Manhattan, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include her children Dean Caraway of Garden City, Ks., Gene Caraway of Marana, Az., and Charlotte & husband John Osbourn of Garden City, Ks.; a sister Jewell Durham of Georgia; 
5 grandchildren Jim & wife Gina Nevola of Manhattan, Ks., Valerie Nevola of Garden City, Ks., Michele Stotler of Prairie Grove, Ar., Bill Osbourn of Springdale, Ar., and Richard Osbourn of Colorado Springs, Co.; and many great and great great grandchildren. Lottie is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Edwina Rose Caraway; a grandson Jeff Caraway; four brothers; and six sisters.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Garden City with Pastor Robert Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family requests memorials given to St. Catherine Hospice in care of the funeral home.
