Lorri Lear, 58 died Friday, September 11, 2015 at her home South of Garden City. She was born September 11, 1957 in Valdosta, Georgia the daughter of Don & Donna (Proctor) Weitzel.
Lorri lived with her family in various places before moving to Ingalls, Kansas when she was a child. She then moved with her family to the Denver, Colorado area. On August 8, 1980 she married Boyd Lear in Englewood, Colorado. They moved to Garden City and have lived in Garden City since. A homemaker, Lorri also worked in banking while living in Denver, Colorado and Manhattan, Kansas. She was a member of the Pierceville Federated Church where she also served on the Christian Education Committee. She was also a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary. Lorri enjoyed playing the piano, youth ministry, visiting with people, traveling, and shopping.  
Survivors include her husband Boyd of the home; two sons Levi & wife Bethany Lear of Sedan, Kansas and Luke & wife Chandler Lear of Bel Aire, Kansas; her mother Donna Weitzel of Englewood, Colorado; a brother Dan & wife Felicia Weitzel of Englewood, Colorado; and a grandson Landry Lear. Lorri is preceded in death by her father Don Weitzel.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Pierceville Federated Church in Peierceville, Kansas with Pastor Terry Major officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Garden City. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, and the family will be at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday to visit with friends. The family requests memorials given to the Pierceville Federated Church in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
