Loretta “Retz” Holland, age 78, of Syracuse, Kansas, died Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Bent County Memorial Nursing Home in Las Animas, Colorado.  She was born September 28, 1941, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Wesley L. and D. Maxine (Shaffer) Holland.

Loretta grew up in Denver, Colorado.  She enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, making crafts, and baking.  She was active in her church.

Loretta is survived by her daughter, LeAnna Bratrud and husband Mikkel of Phoenix, Arizona; brothers, Wesley Holland and wife Maria of Leymone, Nebraska, and Larry Holland and wife Diana of Denver, Colorado; sister, Mirriam DeFluiter and husband Gary of Kuna, Idaho; two grandchildren, Hunter and Dani; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Loretta is preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Zeta June Holland and Linette Long.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM MDT Saturday, November 23, 2019, at Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse, Kansas, with Pastor Dave Keeton officiating.  Memorials may be given to Loretta Holland Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 715, Johnson, Kansas 67855.
