Lorena M. Brown

Lorena M. Brown, 92 of Garden City died Friday, February 14, 2014 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City. She was born August 10, 1921 in Cloud County, Kansas the daughter of Walter James & Kate M. (Paddock) Wisby.

Lorena lived most of her life in Concordia and Liberal, Kansas. On April 14, 1941 she married LaVerne Brown in Concordia, Kansas. Lorena worked as an X-ray Technician in both Concordia and Liberal. After retiring from Southwest Medical Center in Liberal in 1985 Lorena began working as a cook at Sunflower Elementary School in Liberal.

Survivors include a son James D. Brown of Holcomb, Kansas. Lorena is preceded in death by her husband LaVerne who died in November 1984. She is also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Gertrude Crumm.

A private family interment will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
