Garden City 9, Hays 0-Eric Barragan scored four goals and broke the single-season scoring record as the Buffs cruised past Hays at Buffalo Stadium Tuesday Night.
“We played well; it was a lot of hard work,” Coach Josue Negron said afterwards. “It just all came together.”
Barragan finished the regular season with 24 goals, surpassing the previous school record of 23, set by assistant coach Enselmo Enriquez back in 1999.
With the win, Garden City (12-4, 7-1) clinches at least a share of the WAC title. If Dodge loses to Liberal on Thursday, the Buffs would win the conference outright.
