Garden City 3, Thomas Moore Prep 0
Hays, Kan-Most coaches will tell you they will take a win any way they can get it. Joaquin Padilla is no different.
Three different Buffs netted goals in Garden City’s shutout win over Thomas Moore Prep.
“I think the results were somewhat unexpected,” Padilla said. “I’m proud of what we accomplished but there’s plenty to improve on heading into our next match. We have a lot of ground to cover.”
Eric Barrigan’s unassisted goal at the 18-minute mark gave Garden City an early 1-0.
That score would hold until 17 minutes into the second half when Ismael Hernandez setup David Amaro for a goal. David Fuentes would follow up that score with a tally in the 22nd minute.
Dodge City 3, Liberal 0
Dodge City, Kan-Red Demons Head Coach Charles Johnson said he wanted revenge. He certainly got what he was looking for.
Dodge City improved to 6-0 with a 3-0 win over Liberal at Memorial Stadium on Tuesday night.
“It’s always tough playing in the wind, and it’s always tough playing Liberal,” Johnson said. “Coming out on top and coming out quick like we did, was really important for us; finished strong.”
Mario Lopez broke a scoreless tie in the tenth minute when Fabian Dominguez set him up with a beautiful pass from the corner.
Seven minutes later, it was Lopez again, this time finding Isaac Palma on a break, who then setup Fabian Dominguez for the goal.
Tim Schwara’s 30-yard blast in the 30th minute capped the scoring.
