Hugoton High Student Dies in Accident UPDATED

Hugoton, KS (westernkansasnews.com) A sophomore student at Hugoton High School died from injuries she sustained in a one car accident Saturday night. According to sources, Montana Beesley was in the truck with three other people. Beesley was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Wichita where she later died. Two of Beesley’s classmates have been treated and released.   A fourth teen from Minneola is in a Wichita hospital. 

The Stevens County sheriff’s department released a statement about the accident saying that both the driver and a back seat passenger were ejected during a rollover accident of a Chevy Pickup on County Road P.  The release did not give any names or other details about a probable cause of the accident.   

According to those close to Beesley she was a member of the Future Farmers of America, band, cheerleader and sung the National Anthem at Hugoton basketball games.  Beesley’s funeral will be at 2pm Wednesday from the First Christian Church in Hugoton.
