Liberal, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-The opportunities were there the first 76 minutes; Garden City just couldn’t capitalize.

But in the final four, the Buffaloes scored twice to tie Liberal only to fall 3-2 in overtime Tuesday at Redskin Field.

“It was just a lack of communication,” sophomore Isaiah Cruz said after the match.

Eliel Gonzalez put the Redskins up 2-0 with goals in the 38th and 65th minutes. That’s when Garden City mounted their comeback.

Alex Morales scored on a penalty kick in the 76th minute followed by Miguel Hernandez’s equalizer with one minute to play in regulation.

The loss drops Garden City to 6-6 overall and 3-3 in the Western Athletic Conference.
