Liberal Budget Calls for More From Taxpayer

Liberal, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The city of Liberal made some tough choices in finalizing last week’s budget. That includes an increase in the mill tax levy residents have to pay.

City Budget Director Chris Ford believes two things have added to this budget crunch, decrease revenues from both the state and smaller returns from investment accounts.

The mill increase is just an estimate. Ford says final numbers should be available November 1st.
