Lewis J. Fisher, 96, died October 19, 2016 at the Bethel Home in Montezuma. He was born on August 11, 1920 at Amber, Oklahoma the son of Jay and Leona (Hardy) Fisher. 

He married Esther Cross on November 7, 1941 in Raton, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on September 29, 2007. Mr. Fisher enjoyed farming and raising cattle in his spare time. He was the owner and operator of Transport Express Trucking Company.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cimarron.

He is survived by a son Victor Fisher of Dodge City; three daughters Sharon Humphrey of Kinsley; Deborah Kuszmaul of Grove City, Ohio; Ginger Selley of Springfield, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, one grandson, one granddaughter, four sisters, two brothers and one son-in-law.

Funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church on Saturday October 22, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Josh Smith presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Friday October 21, 2016 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Cimarron First Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
