Lesson learned; Lakin baseball falls hard in opener
Lakin, Kan (westernkansasnews.com)-In 19 years of coaching, Lakin skipper Steve Davidson has seen his fair share of disappointments. Thursday night’s season-opener was no exception.
The Broncs committed 15 errors in two games including nine in the first aiding in Wichita Independent’s 20-2 and 17-2 sweep.
“You can’t give good teams extra outs,” Davidson said after the game. “I thought our pitching held the fort for the most part; we just didn’t execute behind them.”
Lack of offense in two games didn’t help either. Lakin slugged out just 12 hits combined in the two games.
