Leonard J. Gonzales, Sr.

Leonard J. Gonzales, Sr., 68, died Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita. 

Leonard was born September 7, 1948 in Dodge City, the son of Domingo C. and Angletia Espinoza Gonzalez. He was born and raised in Dodge City. 

Survivors include: 4 sons, Leonard Gonzales, Jr., Jason Gonzales, Reuben Gonzales and Christopher Voth all of Wichita; 2 daughters, Shelia Van Horn, Newton and Alicia Dorris, Hesston; 3 brothers, Julian Gonzalez, Haysville, Albert “Pino” Gonzales and Joseph Gonzales, both of Dodge City; a sister, Mickey Perez, Larned; 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Angel Gonzales, Frank Gonzales, Manuel Gonzales and Eddy Gonzales, 3 sisters, Angelita Gonzales, Esther “Stella” Ontiveros and Francis Ontiveros. 

Visitation will be Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 1:00pm to 4:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Graveside services will be at 10:00 am Monday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. 

The family suggests memorials to the Leonard Gonzales, Sr. Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
