Lee Richardson Zoo Week Underway
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Sunday started Lee Richardson Zoo week, celebrating the zoo’s 90th birthday.
Some of the special events planned for this week include blues at the zoo on Tuesday May 16 in which the zoo will close briefly at 4 p.m. to prepare for the show. At 6 p.m. the southwest gate will reopen for an evening of music by The Nighthawks beginning at 7 p.m.
Friday May 19 is Endangered Species Day and will feature fun activities from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday May 20 is the z00’s 90th birthday bash. For more information on the events check out the website leerichardsonz00.org.
