Law players earn all-league honors

Dodge City, Kan (westernkansasnews.com)-Most expansion franchises never sniff the postseason. The Dodge City Law not only sniffed it, they nearly plunged their way into the league title game. 

For their efforts, five Law players earned All-CPIFL honors on Wednesday. 

Quarterback Josh Floyd, who threw for over 1300 yards and 22 touchdowns, was named as the second-team quarterback. The veteran signal caller, who took over the starting duties for Charles McCollum with Dodge City staring at a 1-2 record, finished 7-3 as a starter. 

Offensive lineman Mack Randall, who started all but one game, was named to the second-team offensive line. One of the guys he was paving the way for, running back Dominique Carson, was named the second-team kick returner. His electrifying 21.6 return average was fourth in the league. 

Linebacker Walner Leandre’s team-best 84 stops and Cashmin Thomas’s five interceptions landed them second-team defensive spots. 

Dodge City finished with the fourth-best record in the league-earning a trip to the playoffs where they lost to defending-champ Wichita on a last-second, 50-yard field goal.
