Law Enforcement Cracking Down on Traffic Violations

Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Dodge City Police will beef up enforcement on Wyatt Earp Ave between Greenwood and Avenue F beginning Monday and for the next couple of months.  Chief Craig Mellecker says there have been an unusual number of traffic accidents in the area.  Police say violators will be ticketed with no warnings.

While Dodge City Police begin their crackdown on traffic violations…Kansas Highway Patrol will begin one of their own.  Over the next ten days state troopers will step up enforcement of stopping texting while driving.  Even texting at a red light is considered a violation.  Texting while driving makes you 23 times more likely to have an accident then someone who does not text.
