Laura Guebara

Laura Guebara, age 62, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at St Catherine Hospital. She was born May 8, 1951 in Garden City, Kansas, the daughter of R.C. (Romaldo) & Rita (Garcia) Munoz. Laura married Andrew Guebara, Sr., on October 28, 1968 at Lakin Kansas. 

Mrs. Guebara was a lifelong resident of Garden City. She enjoyed and was very skilled at knitting, crocheting, cross word puzzles, and cooking. She became a CNA in the late 1980’s and worked for both Terrace Gardens and Garden Valley Retirement Homes. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and extended family to which she dedicated her life. She was preceded in death by her father, one sister- Mary Ann Ortega, one brother- Mike Munoz (Big Mike) and two grandsons. 

Survivors include her husband, Andrew Guebara, Sr. of Garden City; children, Andrew Guebara, Jr. of Decatur, MI, Manuel Guebara of Garden City, KS, Charles Guebara of Garden City, KS, Frank Guebara of Garden City, K,S Rita Ochoa of Garden City, KS, Bernabe Ruiz of Grand Island, NE; Louis Guebara of Garden City, KS, Laura Lee Asebedo of Garden City, KS, Silvester Guebara of Garden City, KS, Richie Guebara of Garden City, KS; mother, Rita Munoz of Kansas City, KS; brothers & sisters, Rocky Munoz of Garden City, KS, Robert Munoz of Kansas City, KS, Roseanne Munoz of Kansas City, KS, Rachel Strait of New Orleans, LA, John Garcia of Guymon, OK, Lupe Morgan of Flint, MI; 41 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, January 25 and from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2017 at Garnand Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2014 at First Southern Baptist Church in Garden City with Pastor Rick Durham officiating.
Interment: Valley View Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Laura Guebara Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
