Lady Busters Win Second Straight 61-42 over Tabor JV
Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Slow start in both halves, but all that matters is that the Garden City Community College Women’s Basketball team wins their second straight and improves to 2-4 beating Tabor College’s JV team (0-4) 61-42 at the United Wireless Arena in the Dodge City Classic.
GCCC’s Sandra Davis proved why she signed earlier in the week to play basketball at the University of Houston next season. Davis had a double-double 20 points and 13 rebounds leading 3 players in scoring. Shauquanna Collins poured in 10 points and dished out 11 assists. Allegria Chisom added 10 in the win. Tabor’s Gervana Begay and post player Jesse Ramos both scored 8 each in the loss.
Garden City forced 25 turnovers and out rebounded Tabor 46-34 on the boards. The Lady Busters trailed 13-8 eight minutes into the game, but would rattle off a 25-6 run over the rest of the half to grab a 33-19 lead. Garden City defensively shined limiting Tabor to just 14 points through the first 16 minutes of the second half.
The Lady Busters look to make it a three game winning streak when they meet Bethany JV in another game at United Wireless Arena in Dodge City. Saturday’s pre-game is at 1:45pm, tip-off is at 2pm. The game can be heard at on AM 1030 KBUF or westernkansasnews.com.
