Lady Buffs hold their own at Valley Center

Valley Center, Kan (westernkansasnews.com)-Garden City High School probably played against some of the best competition they’ll see during the regular season over the weekend. 

So there was nothing to be ashamed of after the Lady Buffs finished 2-3 overall and in second place in bracket play on Saturday. 

“Even though we had some losses, they were well-fought battles,” Head Coach Shandra Sanders said. “We stayed very close with everybody.”

Garden City’s two victories came against Wichita North (25-11, 25-16) and Goddard (25-17, 21-25, 25-22). 

The Buffaloes dropped matches to Mt Caramel (15-25, 12-25), Rose Hill (24-26, 25-14, 25-22) and Wichita East (25-18, 25-16). 

Garden City is 4-5 overall. The Lady Buffs are back on the road Thursday for a quad with Hays and Pratt.
