Lady Buff Swim Team Notches 2nd Win of the Season at Salina
Salina, KS (www.westernkansasnews.com) – The Garden City Lady Buffalo Swim team believed they had the experience and some new young talent that could really help this year and they are proving it. The Lady Buffs won the the tough Salina South Swimming Invitational last Friday over the 11 team field that included all of the Western Athletic Conference schools. Garden collected one gold on the day with junior Samantha Norton winning the 200 Individual Medley in a time of 2:31.11, plus 13 top five finishes and a host of top ten placers to win the meet with 423 points, Salina South was 2nd with 399.5 and Great Bend 3rd at 370.5 points. The remaining WAC teams had Hays placing 6th, Dodge City was 7th and Liberal 8th. The Dodge City Lady Red Demons had senior Jenny Delzeit earn a gold medal in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:17.05. The Lady Buff aquatic team is at Manhattan tonight for another tough mid-central Kansas match-up with some top ranked swimmers and teams fro the Eastern side of the state.
