Lady Beaver softball wins two lopsided games at Lakin
Lakin, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–After picking up a pair of big wins against Elkhart on Monday, the Scott City Lady Beaver softball team continued their winning ways on Tuesday at Lakin. The Lady Beavers wasted little time on the diamond in their doubleheader, winning 20-2 and 17-1 in run-rule fashion.
The first game saw Scott City score four runs in the first and second innings, and opened the floodgates with 12 runs in the third. Lakin scored only two runs that inning, ending the game after three innings. Madison Orr had two hits and drove in four runs, including a home run in the game. Kaitlyn Roberts picked up the win, giving up two runs in three innings.
Game two went four complete innings, as the Lady Beavers scored two in the second, five in the third and poured it on with 10 in the fourth inning to cruise to the 16-run win. Lakin scored their only run in the third inning. Scott City connected on 15 hits in the second game en route to their eighth straight win.
Scott City is now 8-2 on the season, and will host Colby on Friday for a doubleheader, while Lakin drops to 1-11 on the season, and visits Ulysses on Friday.
