Lady Beaver golf team sees a boost in numbers
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–For the first four years of the revival of the Scott City girls golf program, numbers were down below the minimum allowed to compete as a team for a majority. This year, those numbers have improved, despite a large amount of newcomers to the program.
The 2019 Lady Beaver golf team has eight golfers in their first week of practice, which is the most in the last five years. Only two golfers return from last season, which were the only two out for golf at the end of the season.
Michelle Lightner is the new head coach this year, as they are able to participate in a full schedule for the first time since the revival of the program.
Scott City begins their season on Thursday, September 5 at the Hugoton Invitational.
