Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) Wednesday night the Southwest Kansas Pro Am held their Corporate Appreciation Party and Hall of Fame Inductee Ceremony. The Southwest Kansas Pro-Am raises thousands of dollars each year for the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St. Catherine Hospital.

Long time Pro Am supporter and volunteer Kathy Koster was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Koster has volunteered for the ProAm for over 30 years and says supporting the NICU at the hospital is a passion of hers. One of the reasons Koster is so passionate about supporting the tournament is her second son was born premature and at the time St. Catherine’s did not have the facilities to take care of him.

Koster was born at St. Catherine’s and has lived most of her life in Garden City. She said she originally started volunteering for the Pro Am because of her passion for golf, but then it progressed into helping the hospital.
