Kenneth K. Burrell
Kenneth K. Burrell, 91, died April 30, 2017 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains in Dodge City. He was born on June 7, 1925 in Chambers, Nebraska the son of Wilbur and Myrtle (Donigan) Burrell.
He attended school in Lebanon, Missouri. On August 28, 1943, he married Bonnie Reekie in Kingman. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2012. Kenneth served in the United States Navy. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone company after many years of service. Kenneth enjoyed ham radios, restoring old cars, camping, hunting, fishing, and raising cattle.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Coronado Car Club and the Moose Lodge all of Dodge City.
Kenneth is survived by two daughters, Ruth Terrill of Stone Mountain, Georgia and Sue Gechter and husband Steve of Dodge City; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Bonnie, he is preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Ralph Terrill.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Wednesday May 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Tuesday May 2, 2017 from noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Manor of the Plains or Donor’s Choice in care of the funeral home.
