The Garden City High School radio station KBFZ-LP 101.7 FM was back on the air on Thursday, May 6th, after being silent for a number of weeks. The station was knocked off the air due to issues with the station’s transmitter and antenna, which was caused by winter weather.
KBFZ-LP 101.7 FM is a student run radio station at Garden City High School. The station showcases the abilities of the students at the school as they deliver USD 457 district news, sports, and information to the community. The music format for the station is all 1980’s music; the only all 80’s station in Garden City. GCHS is the only high school in the state of Kansas to operate its own Low Power FM radio station.
