Kaye graduated from Healy High School in 1949. He earned his Bachelor Of Science Degree in Agriculture with Minors in Political Science and Sociology from Fort Hays State University in 1953. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He returned to Healy and taught at the Grade School from 1958 to 1960. He then earned his Masters in Education from Fort Hays State University and was the Principal and a teacher at Healy High School for 28 years. After retiring he farmed in the Healy area for many years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Healy, 7th Calvary of Fort Hays State College, Past Healy Co-op Board member, Past Watershed Board member & belong to the following Honor Societies: Phi Gamma Phi, Phi Kappa Phi, Delta Epsilon & Phi Delta Kappa. Kaye was an avid reader and usually had a book with him and also enjoyed classical music, history & politics.
