Kathleen M. Scheuchzer

Kathleen M. Scheuchzer, 81, died Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City. She was born October 18, 1935 in Garden City the daughter of Aloysius “Al” and Pearl (Johnson) Regan.
A lifetime resident of Garden City, Kathleen graduated from Garden City High School in 1953. She then attended St. Mary Of The Plains College in Dodge City. On December 28, 1955, she married Larry L. Scheuchzer in Garden City. A homemaker, Kathleen also worked for several years for her father at Regan Jewelry in her early years of her marriage. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she volunteered for numerous committees and events. She was also a member of the Newman Club, and for more than 35 years, she hosted in her home the Healing Faith and Love Prayer Group. Kathleen cherished her time with family, and she enjoyed cooking, camping, traveling, her pets, entertaining, attending community concerts, and organizing and coordinating her class reunions.
Survivors include her husband Larry L. Scheuchzer of the home; six children Susan McDaniel of Garden City, KS, Sandra (Andy) Schiffelbein of Garden City, KS, Lee Scheuchzer of Garden City, KS, Sheila (Steve) Yardley of Garden City, KS, Sarah (Rick) Galliart of Garden City, KS, and Shannon (Mark) Davis of Dodge City, KS; four brothers Tom Regan of Denver, CO, Mike Regan of Kansas City, Tim Regan of Garden City, KS, and Jim Regan of Lawrence, KS; three sisters Mary Regan of Garden City KS, Ann Pottorf of Garden City, KS, and Colleen Steck of Naperville, IL; and five grandchildren Brayden Galliart, Dylan Galliart, Logan Davis, Luke Davis, and Maddie Davis. Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Patrick Regan, Kevin Regan, and Shawn Regan.
A Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11 also at St. Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Seiwert as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. to 
5:00 p.m. on Tuesday all at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family request memorials given to St. Mary School Endowment Fund or to St. Catherine Hospice both in care of the funeral home.
