Karlin Ready to Take Mantle of Leadership
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Originally from Powell, Wyoming Doctor Steven Karlin never dreamed he would ever become Deputy Superintendent of Garden City schools USD 457, let alone apply for the Superintendent position. Tracing back to his beginnings as a teacher 27 years ago, the town just grew on Karlin.
If promoted, Karlin wants to work on ways of improving teacher retention.
A decision from the school board between Dr. Karlin and Sterling Superintendent Dr. Fred Dierkson could come as early as Thursday afternoon.
