Kansas Supreme Court Revokes Building Permit for Holcomb Power Plant
(westernkansasnews.com) Holcomb–According to a Friday news release the Kansas Supreme Court reversed a decision from the state’s department of Health and Environment which gave Sunflower Electric a permit to build a coal fired power plant in Holcomb. The justices determined that the state failed to account for new emission standards imposed by the Environmental Protection Agency when the permit was originally issued. When we asked Sunflower Electric about their reaction to Friday’s ruling a spokeswoman said they are still “evaluating” the decision.
