Kansas: Numbers Fall in Recent Health Survey

Doctor Jeff Willett of the Kansas Health Foundation believes the state needs to be more proactive in funding smoking cessation programs.

The state spend a little less than one million on smoking cessation programs. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends states spend at least 23 million. The recent trends in kids health categories is also shocking.

Willett says the survey is not just disappointing for kids.

Doctor Willett continues to push for senior access to healthcare especially in rural areas. There is some good news in the survey. There are two areas where the state is performing well.
