Kansan sentenced for driving 5+ pounds of meth through SW Kansas

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Titus Gwess, 24, from Wichita was arrested and has been sentenced to three years in federal prison after driving with more than five pounds of methamphetamine through southwest Kansas, according to U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister.

Gwess was pulled over by the Kansas Highway Patrol for speeding in Mullinville, Kan. a town in Kiowa County, 35 miles southeast of Dodge City. Gwess pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. In his plea, Gwess admitted that he was coming home from Arizona when he was stopped in Kansas. Gwess had 5.8 pounds of meth inside of his vehicle.

According to McAllister, co-defendant Eric Reyes, 22, Wichita, Kan., is set for sentencing Jan. 28. Defendant Allen R. Killion is set for a change of plea hearing Dec. 17.
