Joseph John Bogner, 62, died April 14, 2015 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. He was born on March 19, 1953 at Dodge City the son of Albert John and Esther M. (Tenbrink) Bogner. 

Joe graduated from Dodge City High School, then attended Dodge City Community College and the University of Kansas. Joe became owner of Western Beverage in Dodge City in the early 1970’s. He married Shirley Krumrey on April 3, 1976 in Dodge City. Joe and his family were very civically involved and supportive of his community. The family is very proud of Joe for being appointed by August Busch III to serve a term on the Anheuser Busch Advisory Panel. 

Joe is survived by his wife, Shirley Bogner of Dodge City; two daughters, Michelle Swisher and husband Don of Inman and Christi Bogner of Dodge City; two sons, John Bogner and wife Kaycie of Dodge City and Scott Bogner and wife Kala of Dodge City; two brothers, James Bogner of Denver, CO and Thomas Bogner of Dodge City; two sisters, Jane Bogner of Vallejo, CA and Carrie Bogner of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Jessica, Kassandra, Daniel Swisher, Addyson Bogner, Makyna Fisher, Allysa, Bladen, Hudsyn Bogner, Keaton, Jersey, and Ellis Bogner.He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Esther (Tenbrink) Bogner and one brother, Kenneth Bogner. 

Mass of Christian burial will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will follow at Greencrest Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 12:00 – 4:00 P.M.. Vigil service will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. Memorials are suggested to Joe Bogner Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
