JoEllyn “Jody” Lubbers

JoEllyn “Jody” Lubbers, 77, died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Trinity Manor, Dodge City. 

She was born May 10, 1938 at Spearville, the daughter of Louis and Anna (Ackerman) Peintner. She was a graduate of Spearville High School and a lifetime area resident. She worked in the records room at St. Anthony Hospital, Mammels Grocery Store, Boot Hill Oil and retired as a receptionist for G&G Car and Truck Center in 2000. She enjoyed playing Bingo, watching KU Basketball, fishing and caring for her 4 cats. 

On May 2, 1964 she married Glen Lubbers at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Dodge City. 

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Dodge City; a brother, Leonard Peintner, Springfield, Missouri; 3 half sisters, Louise Schroeder, Kearney, Nebraska, Helen Lett, Wind Lake, Wisconsin and Virginia Naab, Dodge City; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 half brothers and sisters and 3 step brothers and sisters. 

With respect to Jody’s wishes, there will be no services at this time. Cremation has taken place. 

The family suggests memorials to the Ford County Humane Society or American Cancer Society both in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
