Jerry A. Cunningham
Jerry A. Cunningham, 65, died Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Hays Medical Center, Hays.
He was born March 7, 1950 at Dodge City, the son of Paul and Norma (Beck) Cunningham. A lifetime Dodge City resident, he was a graduate of Ensign High School, served in the Army National Guard and for the last 19½ years was a truck driver for FedEx Freight. He enjoyed watching Sprint Car Racing.
On June 3, 1972, he married Carol Harper in Dodge City.
Survivors include: his wife, Dodge City; his son, Jason and wife Amber, Dodge City; 2 brothers, David and wife Jeanne, Needville, Texas and Wayne and wife Glenda, Deerfield, Kansas; a sister, Paula Hammond and husband Homer, Wichita; and 2 grandchildren, Hannah and Max Cunningham.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lawrence “Larry” Cunningham.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday, October 30, 2015 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, with Rev. Richard Deimund officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery in rural Gray County with full military honors by Howard Gotschall VFW Post 1714 and Military Honors for the State of Kansas. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Cunningham Grandchildren’s Education Fund in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
