Jennie Wilson Elementary to celebrate 50th anniversary Saturday
Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) Jennie Wilson Elementary School will celebrate its 50th anniversary on Saturday, October 7, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. There will be tours of the school along with information about Jennie Wilson and the history of the school. Refreshments will be provided along with a photo booth, in the school’s gymnasium. A bouncy house and face painting will be held outside. There will also be a food truck at the event that will have food available for purchase.
Jennie Wilson is the namesake of one of the 11 elementary schools in the USD 457 school district. The district has named many of its school buildings after outstanding educators. Wilson was a long-time educator and administrator in Garden City and Finney County.
