Jeannie M. Dayton, 72, died Monday, November 28, 2016 at her home in Pratt. 

She was born February 25, 1944 at Stillwater, Oklahoma, the daughter of Aaron Edwin and Myrna Jean (Samples) Wells. She was raised in Colby, graduated from Dodge City High School, and attended trade school in Arizona. She was a longtime Dodge City resident. She moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1987 and retired as a Pharmaceutical Technician. She moved to Pratt in 2014. 

She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Pratt and enjoyed helping others and volunteering for numerous organizations including Bread of Life in Pratt. 

In November of 1963 she married George H. Trabert at Dodge City. They later divorced. In May 1985 she married Don H. Dayton at Dodge City. He preceded her in death in January 2005. 

Survivors include: her son, James E. Trabert and wife Teresa, Roy, Washington; 2 daughters, Georgia Krieger and husband Kurt, Barron, Wisconsin, and Victoria Yohn and husband Michael, Greensburg, Kansas; brothers and sisters, John “Joco” Perona and wife Donna, Independence, Missouri, Joy Perona, Thornton, Colorado, Eddie Wells, Pheonix, Arizona, Becky Anderson, Pendelton, Oregon, and Lonnie Wells, Washougal, Washington; 7 grandchildren, April Senkow, Jarod Glasgow, Erin Harvey, Courtney Trabert, Brandi Marciniak, Brandon Yohn and Bryce Yohn; and 7 great grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and her step-father, James Perona. 

Vigil service will be 6:30 pm Friday, December 2, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church, Pratt. Memorial Mass will be 10:00 am Saturday at the church with Fr. Mike Klag presiding. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. Burial will be Sunday 3:00 at Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg.
