Jay G. Claussen

Jay G. Claussen, 57 died Friday, June 5, 2015 at his home in Deerfield, Kansas. He was born January 23, 1958 in North Platte, Nebraska the son of George & Delin (Knudtson) Claussen.

Jay lived most of his life in Garden City. He attended Garden City schools. He lived in Scott City, Kansas from 1981 to 1992. He then returned to Garden City and has lived in the area since. Jay worked for Wal-Mart for 8 years. He then worked at Teeter Irrigation for 12 years and recently went back to work at Wal-Mart. He enjoyed his dogs and cats, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include a son Jeremy & wife Tiffani Claussen of Haysville, Kansas; two brothers James Claussen of Deerfield, Kansas and Jerry Claussen of Carson City, Nevada; two sisters Sandra Harrison of Seattle, Washington and Georgia Linenberger of Garden City, Kansas; and two grandchildren Tiana Claussen and Jake Claussen.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City with Rev. Scott Schurle officiating. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family requests memorials given to the Finney County Humane Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
