Jamie M. Lutz, 70, died Monday, February 16, 2015 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. 

Loving, generous, outgoing, hardworking, loyal and wouldn’t say “No” to any request are just a few words that describe this amazing woman. 

Jamie was born February 13, 1945 in Dodge City, Kansas, the daughter of James and Faye Schaapveld Casey. She lived in Dodge City all but 1 ½ years of her life. She attended Sacred Heart Cathedral School and then attended St Mary of the Plains High School, graduating in1963. 

On February 27, 1965, she married Thomas E. Lutz in Dodge City. On February 27, 2015 they would have celebrated 50 years of marriage. They moved to Alexandria, Virginia, while Tommy was in the US Army. They returned to Dodge City in 1966. Jamie had many talents that took her into different professions, but the one she loved the most was working with kids most recently as a speech technical assistant for USD 443. She also worked and volunteered for many organizations-DC Area Women’s Chamber, Friendship Feast, VFW Auxillary, Dodge City Round-up, and SMPC Foster Parent Program. She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Altar Society, as well as assisted as a communion minister and a greeter. 

Survivors include: Her husband, Tommy; her daughter Tamara Lutz Moon and husband Kent of Salina; 3 sons, Sean Lutz of Dodge City; Heath Lutz and wife Andrea of Seneca, KS, and Benjamin Lutz and Misty of Dodge City; 2 sisters, Pat Casey Nagy, Dodge City and Mary Casey Lueck of Wichita; 2 brothers, James (Mike) Casey, Dodge City and Tim Casey and wife Dee, Missoula, Montana; as well as many nieces and nephews; and 8 grandchildren, Kaden, Carter, Marley, Graham, Krislyn, Presley, Keara, and Sawyer. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Marceline. 

Vigil service will be 7:00 pm Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 901 Central, Dodge City. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Friday at Sacred Heart Cathedral with Fr. Terrance Klein presiding. Friends may call from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Thursday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Burial will be in Greencrest Memorial Gardens Dodge City. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Sacred Heart School Endowment, Friendship Feast, or Relay for Life all in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
