Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The architects of the state’s fifty year vision for water heard from the public Tuesday at meetings in Liberal, Garden City and Dighton.  Farmer Greg Graff of Leoti wants those who use water wisely to be rewarded.

Secretary of Agriculture Jackie McClaskey knows Southwest Kansas needs help to address their water needs.  A study is looking at the viability of using the Missouri River.

McClaskey says she believes the message is coming across that people need to be mindful of how much water they use.

McClaskey says she is happy that everyone believes their input counts.

This week the governor’s “water team” will make stops in 12 towns to get input from what people want in the final plan.
