He died on August 23, 1968
Ida attended Canadian, Texas schools. During World War II she lived in Bakersfield, California and worked for the government as a Rosie Riveter on B52 bombers, making bullets in an ammunition plant and as a telephone operator. After the war she moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa and worked at the Quaker Oats Plant and the Levi Garnett Factory. After her marriage they lived in Torrance, California and then moved to Oklahoma and later back to Canadian. After her husbands death she moved to Liberal and in 1976 to Garden City. She enjoyed playing bingo and having her nails painted. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, 3 Brothers- John McDonald, Zeke McDonald & Earl McDonald & 5 Sisters- Gladys McDonald, Georgie Carpenter, Betty Smith & 2 infant sisters.
