Hugoton Ready to Begin Blue and Red Tourney
Hugoton, KS (westernkansasnews.com) It always a great advantage to have 14 of the most talented teams in the region play on your homecourt so early in the year. Hugoton girls and boys team’s will play six in the field during this weekend’s annual Blue and Red Classic.
Despite a big opening night win last Friday 76-27 over Syracuse Lady Eagle Head Coach Andy Gillen is still to take over the fine edges.
Tonight the Hugoton girls (1-0) play Perryton a team that beat them in this tournament two years ago. For the boys (1-0) their opponent is another Texas team Gruver. Third year coach Craig Szymczak believes at times his best offense is a good defense.
Tipoff for the girls is 6:30pm; pre-game starts at 6:15 with the boys game to follow on Hits 106 and westernkansasnews.com.
