Hugoton Football Team Begins District Play with Momentum
Hugoton, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The second season begins tonight with district play when the Hugoton Eagles (2-4) football team hosts (3-3) Pratt. The Eagles are upbeat after snapping a four game losing streak last week with a 33-9 win at Southwestern Heights. Head Coach Todd Fulton’s team forced eight turnovers and Ulises Armendariz had three interceptions. Offensively, Fulton would like to get his quarterback Parker Titus on track and that means the rest of the offense has to pick up the pace.
Titus over his last two games is 9 of 26 for 68 yards, no touchdowns and four interceptions. Titus will get some help tonight. One of the main catalysts for the improved running attack is sophomore Tino Degollado.
Degollado rushed for half of his 162 yards this season in last week’s win and added 2 touchdowns. Pratt brings a stingy defense that has had two shutouts and in four games they have allowed seven points or less. Kickoff is 7pm. Pre-game on Hits 106 and westernkansasnews.com is 6:30pm.
