Huelskamp Attempts to Stop Wasteful Spending

Washington, D. C. (westernkansasnews.com) You may not have noticed it last week, but the VA had another big scandal. Western Kansas Congressman Tim Huelskamp serves on the committee that has oversight over the VA.

Huelskamp is convinced they are making progress in solving the mess, but it be easier if those in charge at the VA just leveled with him and his committee.

After last week’s train derailment on the east coast killed seven people the blame game was on that Republicans cut Amtrak infrastructure budget at the cost of safety. Congressman Huelskamp responds.

Huelskamp stands by his decision to stop spending increases for Amtrak based on its inability to make money.

Amtrak loses about 600 million dollars each year.
