Hoxie repeats as J.R. Durham Invitational champions

Norton, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–For the second consecutive year, the Hoxie Indians found themselves at the top of the team standings, as they took the team title at the J.R. Durham Invitational in Norton on Saturday. This years tournament featured 10 teams, which was scaled back from what it was in years past.

Hoxie took six first place finishes individually, and won the tournament by 99 points over runner-up Scott City. The Beavers got two individual champions in Collin McDaniel and Gabe Bowers. Beloit was third.

Norton’s Kolton Field was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Wrestler.
