Howard “Dean” Davis
Howard “Dean” Davis, 87, died Friday, April 21, 2017 at the Kansas Soldiers Home, Halsey Hall, Ft. Dodge.
He was born January 2, 1930 at Cimarron, the son of Ira Clay and Lizzie Beth (Walker) Davis. He was a graduate of Cimarron High School and attended the Garden City Junior College. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After his military service, he worked for the CF&I Steel Mill in Pueblo, Colorado for 35 years until retiring. He moved to Ft. Dodge in September 2014.
He enjoyed traveling and water skiing.
Survivors include: his brother, Floyd, Pierceville; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ernie Davis and 2 sisters, Dorothy Kreutzer and Mary Beth Koehn.
Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel with David Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Montezuma, with full military honors. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 to 8:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
